Fijian back row Netani Talei is in the starting line-up but injured centre Sam Tuitupou misses out with Dale Rasmussen returning to the line-up.
Acting director of rugby Steve Bates will wait on late fitness tests on Tait brothers Mathew (hip) and Alex (head) for Newcastle.
