Football, the greatest game ever played. It was invented by the English, played by the English and lost by the English, what a surprise!
England, they should be the greatest football team in the world, but we’re not, we invented a game we can’t play or did we? The answer is no, look at the England team of 1966, we were brilliant and do you want to know why? Because there were no foreign players in England apart from the odd Irish players but there wasn’t many of those.
These days there are more foreign players in the England than there are English, which is having a dramatic effect on the England team, as we cannot get enough talent in the squad. This is because the English clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are not looking for English talent anymore, they’re looking for overseas talent, as there is a wider range to look at.
Did you know that the average amount of English players in the Premier league who get picked to start a match is about 3!2.73 to be exact. West Ham United has the most English players, Arsenal are the worst with only 0.3 English players in the starting X1, meaning they only play an English player in their squad every 3 games, that is terrible!
I hope the F.A. go through with this new rule they want to enforce, that rule is that every team has to have at least English players in their stating X1, this would mean bade news for Arsenal and good news for West Ham.
