A PAINTER and decorator has been fined £300 following a number of driving offences.
Kevin O'Shea, of Sidbury Road, Worcester, was convicted in his absence in April last year of driving without insurance, MOT and otherwise than in accordance with a licence, as well as failing to provide his driving license, insurance certificate and MOT certificate, all committed on December 31 2006.
He appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Thursday for sentencing.
The 47-year-old told the court he had sold the car, which the offence related to, before he knew about the court proceedings and was having difficulty getting his former insurance company to provide evidence of his cover at the time and had no evidence of the MOT certificate.
He accepted he only had a provisional driving license, which had expired.
O'Shea, who works as a painter and decorator with his father, was fined £200 for having no insurance and disqualified from driving for six months. He was also fined £50 for no MOT and £50 for driving otherwise than in accordance with a license and ordered to pay £60 costs.
No separate penalty was given for the failures to produce.
