City’s league decision expected next week
WORCESTER City will find out next week which league they will be playing in next season.
The St George's Lane club are waiting to see whether they are moved into the Blue Square South following the relegation of four northern-based teams from the Premier.
Now that the play-offs at City's level and the feeder leagues have been completed, the 44 teams to make up the Blue Square North and South are known.
The Football Association's Alliance committee are due to meet on Monday to discuss how the sides are split between the two divisions.
Their decision will then be ratified by a meeting of the FA's league sanctions committee, due to take place on Wednesday.
City expect to be switched south and manager Richard Dryden has indicated as much in allowing players such as Ryan Clarke to be made available.
Travelling commitments have also forced George Clegg to look for a new club although he could return if City end up staying in the north.
Dryden has lined up a series of targets for his squad but will be glad when the north-south debate is settled once and for all.
He said: "There's no point me going for someone right down south if we do stay in the north."
Worcester City Under 15s head to Bristol tomorrow looking to complete a league and cup double.
The teenagers have already secured the Midland Junior Premier Football League South title and are one win away from claiming the League Cup.
Managed by Shellie Morgan and Rich Fassnidge, the team are due to face Histon in the final at Bristol Rovers' Memorial Stadium at 5pm.
The Under 15s reached the final by defeating Stourport Swifts, Highgate United, Stroud and Gloucester.
