The following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on December 21.

 

YASMIN JONES, of Green Hill London Road, Worcester, admitted drink driving. 

The 25-year-old committed the offence on December 2.

Jones was caught driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Friar Street, Worcester, when she had 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

Jones was disqualified from driving for 14 months, which will be reduced by 14 weeks if she completes a drink-drive awareness course. 

The defendant was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £135 costs and £48 victim surcharge. 

 

KYLE BASHFORD, of Windmill Lane, Kempsey, admitted being a driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after a road accident; driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place without due care and attention; using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance; drug driving and driving without a licence. 

Bashford committed the offence driving an Audi A3 on Astwood Road, Worcester, when the amount of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol - a cannabis breakdown - in his blood, was more than 7ug/l - above the legal limit of 2ug/l.

The 19-year-old was given a one-year community order which requires he complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

Bashford was disqualified from driving for 28 months. 

He was also ordered to pay £135 costs and £114 victim surcharge.

The total amount of £249 was ordered to be paid in full by January 18. 

 

CRAIG SCARPELLINI, 31, of Harvey Road, Evesham, admitted racially / religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress - words/writing; assault by beating; assault a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The offences took place between September 1 and September 2 in Evesham. 

Scarpellini was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for a year. 

The court ordered he complete 12 months drug rehabilitation and 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days. 

Scarpellini was ordered to pay £150 compensation, £620 costs and £154 victim surcharge in full before January 18. 

 

ZACH POOLTON, of Edgeworth Close, Worcester, admitted possession of a controlled drug of Class B, cannabis. 

The 30-year-old committed the offence on October 10. 

Poolton was given a conditional discharge of six months. He was also told to pay £135 costs and £26 victim surcharge. 

 

JILL JOYCE, of Victoria Avenue, Worcester, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

The 44-year-old committed the offence in Castle Street, Worcester, on December 1. 

Joyce was given a three-month conditional discharge. No orders for costs or victim surcharge were made. 

 

WAYNE THOMPSON, of Himbleton Road, Worcester, admitted a charge of using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The 53-year-old committed the oublic order offence in Worcester on December 2.

Thompson was given a three-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay costs of £135, victim surcharge of £26.

 

SAM BETTS, of The Leys, Evesham, admitted driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, drink driving and driving without insurance. 

Betts committed the offence on December 2 driving a Mini Cooper on Fairfield Road, Evesham, when he had  89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

The 23-year-old was disqualified from driving for 22 months. 

Betts was also fined £280, ordered to pay £135 costs and £112 victim surcharge.
