A gastropub in Birmingham has been named in Estrella Damm’s new top 100 list for 2024.

The website explains that votes are collected “from more than 100 industry professionals who are key people in the hospitality industry.”

It adds: “Our judges come from leading pub businesses, editors of media brands and food writers who are geographically spread across the UK to ensure no regional bias.”

The Plough Harborne in Birmingham is ranked in 87th place and is the only one in the city to have been recognised.

The Plough Harborne has been running for 20 years and its current owners, Adam and Sarah Johnson took it over in 2003.

The list says: “Over the years there have been various investments and expansions on the premises and a revamp of the trading area in the garden.

“The main menu boasts a range of classics from Shepards pie, winter vegetable & stilton pie and battered cod.

“It offers a wide range of pizzas, calzone, burgers and sides for diners. There is also an extensive brunch menu and the pub is famous for its great Sunday lunches. It is also known for its good coffee.”

The gastropub is praised on Tripadvisor with a 4.5 star rating from 1,251 reviews.
