A 42-YEAR-old man is accused of having a disguised blade in Lowesmoor. 

Christopher Smith, of Rydal Close, Worcester, denies the offence of having an offensive weapon in a public place. 

Smith, of Rydal  Close, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court but his trial was adjourned.

The crown alleges Smith had the weapon on him on August 7, 2023.

The particulars of the offence read: "Without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, had with you in a public place, Lowesmoor, an offensive weapon - namely a replica house key with a blade incorporated."

Vicky Quarton, chairperson of the magistrates bench, told Smith to return to the court for his trial at Worcester Magistrates Court on April 15. 

The chairperson warned him he must attend the trial and if he committed an offence prior to the hearing it would be viewed more seriously. 

Val Hart, prosecuted while Simon Cleary defended during the latest hearing at the court on Thursday, (February 22).
