DANGEROUS structures on a city road led to a fire crew being called out twice in one hour.

Lowesmoor in Worcester was blocked by fire engines after fire crews removed not one but two dangerous structures from two buildings.

One crew from Worcester was called to remove a loose aerial on the roof of a three-storey building on Saturday at 11.10pm.

But just over an hour later, another fire crew was called to remove another loose aerial from the roof of another building on the same road.

The incident led to a large build-up of traffic through the city centre, with cars queueing along Sansome Street down to the roundabout, the B4205 and Pheasant Street.

West Mercia Police attended both incidents.

An eyewitness said firefighters appeared to be trying to remove a broken antenna from a rooftop along Lowesmoor.

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A HWFR crew from Worcester Fire Station and the Worcester aerial ladder platform was called at 11.10am on April 6 to a dangerous structure in Lowesmoor, Worcester.

"A loose aerial on the roof of a three-storey building was removed using the aerial ladder platform. Lowesmoor was blocked due to the incident, which police also attended.
