A BARGAIN chain that is due to open a new store at a vacant building in Malvern says it will provide a number of new jobs.

B&M has revealed it will be opening a new branch in the former Wiko building in Great Malvern.

Since announcing the news, it has teased its plans ahead of its grand opening on Saturday, May 4.

The discount retailer has taken possession of the former Wilkos store, which will undergo a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before it opens its doors.

There will be a wide variety of branded groceries including a range of food, drink and pet food.

There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.

Now, however, a further exciting update from the bargain chain has revealed the new store will create up to 39 jobs for local people.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

Ahead of its grand opening, B&M has also revealed it will be supporting two charities who will present and the official unveiling of the Malvern store.

Malvern Hills Foodbank and Malvern Special Families charity will help open the branch and, in addition to opening the store, both the team will also receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers each, which will go towards helping the charities to continue doing the great work they do.

The store manager also commented: “Malvern Hills Foodbank and Malvern Special Families really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
